Laser and Intense Pulsed Light Physics and Safety ED220 - Core of Knowledge Certificate (AU)

    

This Online Laser Training distance-learning course is a Radiation Health QLD approved (course no: ED220) and UK BMLA recommended Laser Physics & Safety ‘Core of Knowledge’ (CoK) training module to provide you with a fundamental understanding of laser and light technology, how light interacts with skin to produce specific biological effects and how to use laser and intense pulsed light (IPL) safely.
It also covers relevant AS/NZS and ACORN standards and regulations governing their use in a professional setting in different jurisdictions.
It is a legal obligation in some states of Australia that a Laser Physics & Safety [ED220] ‘Core of Knowledge’ course from a recognised or approved trainer is provided as a requirement of registration and/or licensing.

Core of Knowledge Training includes the following topics:
• Laser & Intense Light Source radiation - tissue Interaction
• Laser/intense light generation and characteristics.
• Hazards and risks from equipment and laser or IPL beams and
• Relevant legislation and safety standards.
The subjects will be covered by 11 lessons over 4 units of learning.

This course is awarded 30 CPD points. In addition, the course is approved by the British Medical Laser Association, by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and by Radiation Health in Australia. It is also recommended by the Australasian college of medical aesthetics and the New Zealand society of cosmetic medicine.

This online course is worth 30 CPD learning credits (which is equivalent to a notional 30 hours of learning).

This Level 4 version of the course is for Australian States and jurisdictions.
